Newest latest, Now they Pimp'n, Malcolm X for Profit

"It makes me sick, how far we done fell"

"Like so many trappings of midcentury manliness, brow line eyeglasses — the kind favored by Malcolm X — have landed in the hipster bargain bin. Leave it to Tom Ford to rescue them with this exquisite version made of gold-plated metal and water buffalo horn, the way they used to be in the 1960s. (The horn component even comes with a certificate of authenticity, along with a special cleansing cream.) The only thing that’s not midcentury about these limited-edition frames is the $2,950 price tag."

The above picture of Malcolm X has been appropriated by Tom Ford to sale "limited edition eye glasses to white hipsters for 2,950 a pop. This ad appeared on page 56 in the New York Times Style Magazine. I'm sure that as I'm writing this, some white hipster is wearing these feeling all smug and ironic about his "Malcolm X glasses"

This reminds me of the scene from David Simon's The Wire where Bunk says to Omar, "It makes me sick how far we done fell"
